about

We are delighted to be releasing, for the very first time, the origianl & iconic British television theme tune to Desmonds - Don't Scratch My Sofa. Sung by lead actor himself - Norman Beaton, who played Desmond Ambrose.

The hugely popular comedy ran on Channel 4 from 1989 to 1994, yet the theme tune has never been released. It was co-written by Trix Worrell (series creator) and John Collins (The Specials Ghost Town producer).

This 7" comes on John Collins Local Records imprint, which he launched in 1979 releasing Janet Kay, Victor Romero Evans, and some of the earliest British dub under the guise of The Detonators.

We are honoured to be giving the theme tune to this landmark British comedy it's debut release!
